Paschal signed a petition requesting the appointment of Isaac S. Williams as captain after Capt. Hockaday's death. This is individual evidence placing Paschal at Camp Jackson on that date.
A North Carolina pension application survives and is part of the primary-record trail for his service.

Family records give a birth year of 1815; his military muster card gives November 1817. Both are retained until the records are reconciled.
